Tri-Valley Burrito Showdown!

`Wet Burrito from Diablo Taqueria - Danville

Last month, we asked you all to spill the beans (literally) on your favorite burrito spots in the Tri-Valley. And wow, did you deliver! We tallied up your recommendations, rolled up our sleeves (and our burritos), and set out on a six-week, tortilla-wrapped adventure. 🌯Nearly 20 burritos later, my family is officially obsessed, and my kids are already asking what our next foodie mission will be.

In no particular order, here are the top 10 burritos we devoured on this delicious journey:

  • Tequila’s Taqueria (Livermore) – With two locations, we hit up the downtown spot. Big, meaty, and packed with flavor. Bonus points for the salsa bar. 160 S. Livermore Ave.

  • Dublin Taqueria (Dublin) – First-time visit, but definitely not our last. The place was packed on a Wednesday lunch (always a good sign). My chicken burrito was so good I planned on leftovers—until my son ate it as a pre-dinner snack. 3986 Summit Rd.

  • El Rancho Grande Taqueria (Pleasanton) – Tucked next to Gene’s and Porky’s Pizza Palace, we were intrigued by the "Super 2 Mix Meat Burrito." Carnitas + shrimp = perfection. 2707 Hopyard Rd.

  • Fiesta Taco (Pleasanton) – My husband nearly teared up from nostalgia, claiming he ate over 100 burritos here before we met. After one bite of the carne asada burrito, I get it! 1989 Santa Rita Rd. STE J.

  • El Nido (Danville) – How did we not know this place has been around for 40 years?! The family voted my husband’s X-Mas Burrito (Chile Verde + Chile Colorado + red and green enchilada sauce) as the star of the night. Too bad he inhaled half before I could take a photo! 107 Town and Country Dr. Ste A.

  • Taqueria Los Pericos (Dublin) – We mixed it up with a breakfast burrito featuring eggs, cheese, beans, and chorizo. Perfect brunch! The side of salsa took it over the top. 7473 Village Parkway.

  • Bronzes Taqueria (Pleasanton) – A 4.6 rating on Google says it all. My first visit, and the Chile Verde Burrito was fantastic. Their salsa bar also gets a standing ovation. 5410 Sunol Blvd, Ste 3.

  • Cinco TacoBar (Livermore) – We’ve been here plenty of times but always for the tacos (those hand-rolled, made-to-order corn tortillas!). This time, my daughter and I split an Al Pastor Burrito and, wow—new dilemma: tacos or burritos? 😋 4526 Las Positas Rd.

  • Tacos La Potranca (Livermore) – Yes, it’s attached to a gas station, but trust me on this one. The al pastor and chicken are seasoned to perfection, and their salsa bar is elite. Don’t skip the avocado tomatillo salsa! 905 Bluebell Dr.

  • Diablo Taqueria (Danville) – A post-sports practice pick-up that turned into a revelation. Their Wet Super Burrito was massive—one was enough for me and my two daughters, but my rugby-playing son took one down solo. Impressive and delicious. 110 Hartz Ave.

If you made it this far without running to your favorite taqueria, I applaud your willpower. If we missed your go-to spot, let me know—we’re always up for another burrito run! 🍴
